Collection of Fees by Stamps and Amendment of Documents (Section 66 & 67)
Collection of Court Fees Through Stamps (Section 66)
As per Section 66 of The Rajasthan Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1961, all court fees are to be collected by means of stamps. These stamps provide evidence of having paid the fee which is payable. The use of these stamps is determined by the State Government. The stamps may be of various kinds—some could be impressed on papers directly, some could be adhesive (stick-on type), or they may be of a mix of both.
For instance, once an individual brings a case to the court, they must pay the applicable court fee. Rather than paying in cash, they buy stamps of the proper value representing the court fee and affix them to their petition. The court will check the stamps before they accept the document.
The government also possesses authority to alter the use of these stamps by issuing official notifications. If necessary, they can issue new forms of stamps or alter the current system.

Correction of Errors in Stamped Documents (Section 67)
Section 67 further provides that when a document in need of stamping contains an error and the document has to be corrected, a fresh stamp is not necessary. The correction should be in order to rectify an error and not for altering the subject matter of the document.
For instance, if someone sends a document of a contract with a small spelling error in a name, they can have it corrected without having to purchase a new stamp. But in case the change alters the implication of the contract, a new stamp might be necessary.
Such a provision is useful in ensuring that individuals don’t incur avoidable costs whenever they make minute changes while maintaining that significant modifications are duly accounted for.
