The University of Vienna and the University of Regensburg are jointly organising an interdisciplinary workshop exploring Bosnia and Herzegovina as a βlegal interspace.β
The workshop will examine how legal orders, jurisdictions and practices evolve amid changing rule, territorial reorganisation and institutional plurality.

Themes
The workshop particularly welcomes contributions addressing governance and legal continuity, jurisdictional plurality, legal practice, legal knowledge and translation, and the opening and closing of interspaces.
The call will be of particular interest to researchers working in constitutional law, international law, legal history, legal anthropology, sociology of law, political science and South-East European studies.
Researchers at all career stages are welcome to submit contributions. The working languages of the workshop are English and German.
The workshop offers an opportunity to engage with questions surrounding legal pluralism, constitutional transformation, territorial governance and the interaction between different legal orders.
Interested researchers should submit their proposals by 30 September 2026.
