Associate Legal Asset Management Role
As an Associate within the Asset Management Legal team, the selected candidate will primarily work on reviewing and analysing distribution and client agreements. The role also involves supporting the documentation requirements of the asset management business and communicating legal and documentation requirements to business stakeholders.
The position will involve working with teams across different functions and jurisdictions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the EMEA Asset Management Legal team and contribute to projects involving clients, funds, distribution arrangements, and asset management products.
Responsibilities
The Associate will be responsible for reviewing and drafting a range of client-facing legal documents. These may include platform agreements for investment funds, terms of business, account opening documents, investment management agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
The role also involves negotiating commercial agreements with JPMorganChase clients in collaboration with cross-functional and global teams. The selected professional will provide legal support to sales, client service teams, and other internal stakeholders.
The Associate will also serve as a point of contact within the Legal Department for certain EMEA Asset Management business matters concerning fund distribution and client documentation. Other responsibilities include maintaining and updating client-facing agreement templates, coordinating with external counsel, and working with Compliance, internal lawyers, and other stakeholders.
The position may also involve legal, regulatory, and market research, special projects, and participation in product and business initiatives across the EMEA Asset Management Legal team.
Eligibility and Skills
Candidates should have a law degree and membership in the relevant jurisdictional organisation. Attorney candidates must comply with applicable licensing requirements, including requirements applicable in the jurisdiction where the position is located.
Applicants are required to have a minimum of three years of experience in legal practice. Strong written and spoken English skills are required, along with excellent legal writing and communication abilities.
