A court in Bhopal has handed over Samarth Singh to the police for 7 days. Twisha Sharma is the wife of him. Earlier this month, she died in their home. The police asked for his time to question. They requested remand of the judge. They got it. Judicial Magistrate First Class Anudita Gupta gave the order early in the morning. His lawyer had to give his passport to the court. This means that he is not able to leave the country. The police need to interrogate him in great detail about his wife and what happened on the day of her death; he must be imprisoned to allow them to do this.
Twisha was 33 years of age. She hails from Noida. She used to be a model and an actor. She married Samarth in December last year. He is a lawyer at Bhopal. Five months after marriage, she passed away at her new dwelling place in the Katara Hills area. Her family reported the incident to the police. They alleged that Samarth and his mother tortured her for dowry. People reported that they heard the harassment many times and at a high volume. The police registered a formal case against the husband and the mother-in-law under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita due to this complaint
The Arrest in Jabalpur
The cops in the area did not find it easy to locate Samarth. He was immediately removed from the place on receiving the FIR. For days and days his hiding place was sought. So much so that even a cash reward of 30,000 rupees was offered to the police for any reliable tip. To prevent him from crossing the boundaries they issued a lookout circular.
Faster than usual, things changed on Friday. He presented himself before a District court in Jabalpur. He wished to capitulate. He had tried to get anticipatory bail earlier from the high court. He withdrew such a request. He was able to turn himself in under the law, his lawyer said. There the court would not allow him to do this. The police commissioner Sanjay Kumar gave details to the media later on. He said a group of police were already following him and waiting there. He was arrested on the spot with the help of the local police of Jabalpur
They took him back to Bhopal at midnight.At night they brought him back to Bhopal. At about 2 a.m., they rushed him to Katara Hills police station. He was taken to a special investigation team. They also announced that they would come down hard on anyone who had been harboring him when he was on the lam.

Twisha’s death was on May 12th. New accounts from witnesses indicate that she did quite normal things that afternoon. She went to a beauty parlour close to her house. She remained there for three hours. The woman who is the owner of the parlour talked with reporters. Her name is Kiran. She told them that Twisha arrived around 3 o’clock and left around 6 o’clock.
Twisha was given a head massage. She got a pedicure. She had a few skin procedures performed. She conversed with the employees as though they were just a regular customer. In the salon they watched a film together. Even asked the workers what their favorite movies were. Kiran told the reporter that Twisha had actually said that she wanted to chill out. Nothing looked wrong. She appeared to be just fine
Later that night she passed away. The next day, this was revealed to the owner of the parlour. Mother-in-law of Twisha called. She asks Twisha what time he arrived, and how long he stayed. A day later, five men wearing white shirts and black coats showed up at the salon. They requested the owner to provide the CCTV video.
Perform a Second Autopsy by the Doctors of AIIMS
The medical aspect of the investigation got a massive makeover. Her family was upset with the first post-mortem. They made a lot of efforts to get the second done. The Madhya Pradesh High Court agreed with them. A new medical examination was ordered.
A team of four senior doctors came all the way from AIIMS Delhi. They went to Bhopal only to see her body again. This sort of step does not occur in a regular case. It indicates that the courts have been very skeptical about police documents. The state government has also informed the centre that they desire that the CBI take up the entire investigation. The local police in Bhopal will continue to accumulate the file with no interference from the federal agency till then.
The Mother In Law and Legal Battles
Samarth is not the only one who’s getting arrested by the police. His mother is Giribala Singh. She is an ex-Judge. She was also the former President of the consumer court in Bhopal. She managed to obtain anticipatory bail in time from the police. She’s immune from prison time at this time.
The police and Twisha’s family are working extremely hard on this one. Twisha’s dad petitioned the high court to revoke that bail. The state government filed another petition for the exact same reason. The lower court has hurried the bail order, said Solicitor General Tushar Mehta in his address to the high court.

He became angry and slapped the hood of his car. Later, Giribala Singh said she was not able to leave her home as the media was walking on the street outside her family’s house. She instead e-mailed the chief of police. The police can go to her home to talk if they wish, she said.
Supreme Court Steps In
This case is currently before the nation’s top court. On Saturday, Supreme Court itself took suo motu cognisance. They chose not to await appeal, but examine the case themselves.
