Litigation and Policy Associate Vacancy
The position of Litigation and Policy Associate is a full-time and permanent role. The selected candidate will work in an in-person mode and contribute to litigation and policy initiatives related to disability justice and human rights.
The role is particularly relevant for lawyers who are interested in combining litigation practice with policy advocacy. Candidates will be expected to undertake legal research, assist with court proceedings and contribute to advocacy and institutional engagement.
Eligibility for Law Graduates
Candidates applying for the position must hold an LL.B. degree. Around two years of litigation experience is preferred, although the organisation has indicated that this requirement may be relaxed for exceptional candidates.
The opportunity may therefore be considered by law graduates with litigation experience as well as exceptional candidates who demonstrate strong legal research, drafting and advocacy abilities.
Role and Responsibilities
The selected Litigation and Policy Associate will be involved in drafting writ petitions, pleadings and legal representations. The role will also involve conducting high-quality legal research and appearing in court or assisting with court-related proceedings.
In addition to litigation work, the position includes responsibilities relating to policy advocacy, institutional capacity building and registry coordination. The role therefore combines litigation practice with broader policy and human rights work.
Salary and Application Process
The remuneration for the position is ₹45,000 per month during the probation period. After completion of probation, the remuneration will increase to ₹50,000 per month.
