About the Opportunity

Candidates must possess an LL.B. or LL.M. degree from a recognised university.
Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in legal matters, particularly commercial contracts, legal drafting, negotiation and corporate legal advisory work.
Candidates should have a sound understanding of contractual obligations, legal risk management, commercial transactions and applicable regulatory requirements.
Experience in drafting and negotiating agreements with domestic and international parties will be relevant to the position.
Applicants should also be comfortable working with business teams and providing legal solutions to commercial and operational issues.
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected Manager, Legal will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalising various commercial agreements entered into by the company.
These may include supply and procurement agreements, manufacturing agreements, contract manufacturing agreements, distribution and marketing agreements, technology transfer agreements, clinical trial agreements, confidentiality agreements, service agreements and consultancy contracts.
The candidate will also handle licensing agreements, collaboration agreements, vendor contracts and customer agreements.
Depending on business requirements, the role may involve banking agreements and agreements relating to mergers and acquisitions.
An important responsibility will be negotiating contracts with domestic and international counterparties while safeguarding Sun Pharma’s legal, commercial and reputational interests.
The selected candidate will identify and assess contractual risks, regulatory concerns and potential commercial disputes.
The professional will advise business teams on important contractual provisions, including indemnities, warranties, intellectual property rights, limitation of liability, risk allocation and dispute resolution clauses.
The role also involves working closely with the company’s Procurement, Commercial, Manufacturing, Research and Development, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Finance and Supply Chain departments.
The candidate will provide legal assistance during vendor selection, tendering processes and commercial negotiations.
Other responsibilities include maintaining contract records, monitoring contractual obligations, supporting legal and compliance audits and ensuring that commercial agreements comply with applicable laws and company policies.
The selected professional will also contribute to improving contract management processes, preparing standard agreement templates and conducting legal training sessions for business teams.
Skills Required
Candidates should possess strong contract drafting, legal research, analytical and negotiation skills.
They should be capable of identifying legal risks and suggesting practical solutions that support business objectives.
Good communication and interpersonal skills will be important because the position involves regular interaction with internal departments and external counterparties.
Knowledge of commercial contracting practices, corporate governance and legal compliance within the pharmaceutical industry will be useful.
