Since Bihar is in the news nowadays because of the forthcoming Bihar state assembly elections, I am reposting this story of a Bihari, since many persons may not have read my earlier post, or forgotten it.
The story was told to me by my friend late Ram Lakhan Chaturvedi, senior advocate, Allahabad High Court, who was about 10 years older than me, and died a few years back.
Ram Lakhan had been a student of Benares Hindu University in his youth. He had been allotted a hostel room in BHU which he shared with a youth from Bihar.

One night when Ram Lakhan was deep asleep it started raining. Ram Lakhan heard a shouting from his hostel mate ” Ram Lakhanwa, Ram Lakhanwa ”.
Still in the daze of his deep sleep Ram Lakhan partly opened his eyes, and saw the Bihari standing next to the room window, and again shouting excitedly ” Ram Lakhanwa, Ram Lakhanwa ”.
“‘ Kya hai bey ? ” said Ram Lakhan, angry that his sleep had been disturbed.
” Bijuri ”, said the Bihari.
” To kya hua ? asked Ram Lakhan, growling at the Bihari
” Chamkat ba ” said the Bihari
At this Ram Lakhan cursed the Bihari, closed his eyes, and went off to sleep again
P.S.
Biharis, please dont be mad at me, There was no intention to insult you. I only narrated a story I heard. So please dont burn my effigy or file an FIR against me
