
The Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice B.R. Gavai, on 2 July 2025 cleared the appointments of ten judicial officers as judges of the Punjab & Haryana High Court. The officers, who have been chosen from various districts, have a rich repository of judicial experience, educational credentials, and administrative skills that mirror the rich legal landscape
1. Shri Virinder Aggarwal
Virinder Aggarwal has been serving as District & Sessions Judge in Punjab since December 2018, presiding over key judicial functions in Barnala and Ferozepur. With his strong background in district-level adjudication, he brings seasoned legal insight to the High Court.
2. Ms. Mandeep Pannu
Armed with a B.Sc. and LL.M., Ms. Pannu has held a dynamic career arc—from District & Sessions Judge in Moga to serving as Legal Remembrancer and Principal Secretary to the Punjab Government. Her judicial postings span Amritsar, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Mohali, and Tarn Taran .

3. Shri Parmod Goyal
Currently serving as a District & Sessions Judge in Sonepat, Haryana, Parmod Goyal’s appointment reflects the Collegium’s confidence in his administrative and legal experience within the state’s judiciary.
4. Ms. Shalini Singh Nagpal
Holding administrative responsibilities alongside judicial duties, Ms. Nagpal has served as District Judge in Yamunanagar (Jagadhri) and Director (Administration) at the Haryana State Legal Services Authority. She also contributed to juvenile justice training at the Chandigarh Judicial Academy.
5. Shri Amarinder Singh Grewal
Educated in commerce and law (B.Com., LL.B.), Grewal currently holds the position of District & Sessions Judge in Amritsar and is a super-time-scale officer since November 2019. His steady judicial progression underscores a career marked by merit-based advancement.
6. Shri Subhas Mehla
While not much is publicly documented about Mehla’s earlier assignments, he currently functions as a District & Sessions Judge in Haryana. His selection signals recognition of substantial regional legal expertise.
7. Shri Surya Partap Singh
With a history of service as a district judicial officer in Haryana, Singh has demonstrated qualities of legal soundness and administrative judgment, leading to his elevation .
8. Ms. Rupinderjit Chahal
Rupinderjit Chahal holds a BA and LL.M. and has been serving as District & Sessions Judge in Patiala since May 2023. Before this, she filled postings in Mohali and Fatehgarh Sahib, and was Registrar (Vigilance) at the Punjab & Haryana High Court in Chandigarh.
9. Ms. Aradhana Sawhney
Although full career details are limited, Sawhney’s elevation reflects her meritorious service as a judicial officer and readiness to contribute at a higher judicial capacity.
10. Shri Yashvir Singh Rathor
Alongside Sawhney, Rathor has earned the Collegium’s nod for his service record. His appointment highlights the bench’s commitment to infusing the High Court with diverse judicial talent.
