Harish Salve to Join NLUD as Professor

New Delhi, 13 August 2025: National Law University, Delhi, has welcomed the eminent lawyer and jurist, Senior Advocate Harish Salve, as its distinguished professor. The university made an announcement earlier this week, expressing excitement about his appointment.

The students of NLUD (National Law University of Delhi) will stand to gain from his expertise and experience. Mr. Harish Salve is a renowned lawyer in international law, human rights, constitutional matters, and commercial arbitration and litigation.

He is famously known for fighting for Kulbhushan Jadhav‘s case at the ICJ (International Court of Justice). He has also appeared in other well-known cases such as the Bilkis Bano case, Salman Khan’s hit-and-run case, and the Krishna-Godavari Basin gas dispute case.

Born and brought up in a Marathi family, Mr. Harish Salve’s father was a chartered accountant, and his mother was a doctor. Following in the footsteps of his father, he first studied and became a chartered accountant but later pursued an LLB from Nagpur University.

He first started his career under J. B. Dadachandji & Co. and then later joined Palkhivala, and even helped him with the Minerva Mills case.

This is a great opportunity for NLUD, and they stand to gain not only knowledge but also leadership from him.
