About the Legal Vacancy
Zeta is looking for an experienced corporate lawyer to join its legal team under the CEO Office. The position involves handling technology contracts, commercial transactions, regulatory matters and legal issues connected with the company’s banking technology business.
The selected candidate will work closely with Zeta’s legal leadership in India and interact regularly with its product, sales, engineering, compliance and information security teams.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a five-year BA LL.B., BBA LL.B. or an equivalent law degree from a recognised institution. Applicants must also be qualified to practise law in India.
An LL.M. degree will be considered an additional qualification, although it is not compulsory.
The company is seeking lawyers with approximately 9 to 12 years of post-qualification experience in technology law. Applicants should have worked in the technology law practice of a leading law firm, an in-house legal department of a B2B SaaS company, or both.
Previous law firm experience is mandatory.
Candidates must have substantial experience in drafting and negotiating technology agreements, including software licensing, outsourcing, software development and IT services contracts.
Knowledge of intellectual property law, data protection requirements and commercial legal practices is also necessary.
Zeta is particularly interested in applicants who understand technology agreements used in banking and financial services, including contracts involving international parties.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Associate Director will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating major commercial agreements entered into by Zeta.
These agreements will include B2B SaaS contracts, outsourcing arrangements, software development agreements, licensing agreements, managed services contracts and agreements with technology partners and third-party vendors.
The selected lawyer will also advise the company on corporate law, employment matters, intellectual property and other legal issues that arise during business operations.
Another important part of the job is dealing directly with banks, financial institutions and technology companies during contractual negotiations.
The candidate will have to identify legal risks in proposed agreements and explain those risks to business teams. The company expects practical legal advice that helps commercial operations proceed while protecting its interests.
The position also comes with team management responsibilities. The Associate Director will supervise lawyers working on contracts, review their work and help improve the department’s internal processes.
The selected professional will also work on developing standard contract templates, improving legal documentation and maintaining consistency in contractual negotiations.
