Trends in Intellectual Property Research (TIPR) invites submissions for its Vol. 4, Issue 4 (2026). This
is an opportunity for academics, researchers, IP practitioners and students to publish IP scholarship in a
peer-reviewed, open-access international journal, with no publication fee.
About Trends in Intellectual Property Research
Trends in Intellectual Property Research (Trends Intellect. Prop. Res.; ISSN 3007-8539 Online, 3007-
8520 Print) is a quarterly open-access journal published by Innovative Insights (SMC-Private) Limited,
Lahore, Pakistan. It publishes research papers, review papers and case comments on all aspects of
intellectual property rights. All published articles are double-blind peer-reviewed by at least two
independent experts. The journal is a signatory to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Themes include, but are not limited to:
- Patents and utility models
- Copyright and related rights
- Trademarks and brand protection
- Geographical indications
- Trade secrets
- Industrial designs
- Layout designs of integrated circuits
- Unfair competition and antitrust
- Piracy, counterfeiting and IP enforcement
- IP, technology transfer and innovation policy
Submission Categories - Original Research Articles: Detailed legal analysis, theoretical contributions or empirical
studies on intellectual property. - Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of developments in specific areas of IP law and
policy. - Case Comments: Critical analysis of recent IP decisions of courts, tribunals or IP offices.
Note: The journal does not prescribe a fixed word limit; manuscripts should be complete and concise.
Eligibility Criteria - Academicians and researchers in IP and related fields
- IP practitioners, patent and trademark attorneys
- Policymakers and technology-transfer professionals
- Postgraduate and doctoral scholars and law students
Authors from Pakistan and from all other countries are welcome. Co-authorship is permitted.
Submission Guidelines - Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
- Only manuscripts in English are accepted.
- Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format. Author information goes on a separate title page
for blind review. - The title should preferably not exceed 20 words.
- The abstract should be 250–350 words.
- Provide 6–10 keywords, in alphabetical order and separated by semicolons.
- Citations must follow Chicago author-date style. Statutes and case law go in numbered footnotes.
- Conflicts of interest must be declared, and permission must be obtained for any third-party
material.
