The University of Allahabad, Prayagraj, has invited applications for Faculty and Professional Expert positions in Law on a contractual basis. The recruitment is being conducted for the Faculty of Law, with opportunities for candidates who meet the prescribed academic or professional requirements.
A total of six positions are available, including four Faculty positions in Law subjects and two Professional Expert positions in Law. The Faculty positions carry a fixed remuneration of ₹45,000 per month, while Professional Experts will be paid ₹1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of ₹50,000 per month.
Faculty and Professional Expert Vacancies
The University has announced four Faculty positions in Law subjects. The category wise distribution includes two posts for Unreserved candidates, one for OBC candidates and one for an SC candidate.
In addition, there are two Professional Expert positions in Law, both earmarked for the Unreserved category. The positions are associated with the Faculty of Law and are intended to support teaching and academic activities in the BA LL.B. (Hons) programme.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the Faculty positions must fulfil the educational qualifications prescribed under the UGC Regulations, 2018. Applicants are required to have secured at least 55 percent qualifying marks or an equivalent grade, subject to the applicable five percent relaxation mentioned in the recruitment advertisement.
For the Professional Expert positions, candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of legal practice. Candidates for the available positions should also be proficient in English, which is the medium of instruction for the BA LL.B. (Hons) course.
Salary and Application Fee
Selected Faculty members will receive a fixed remuneration of ₹45,000 per month. Professional Experts will receive ₹1,500 per lecture, with the total remuneration capped at ₹50,000 per month.
The application fee is ₹500 for candidates belonging to the UR, EWS and SEBC categories, while SC and ST candidates are required to pay ₹200. PwD and women candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee. Where applicable, the fee is payable through RTGS or NEFT as prescribed by the University.
Walk In Interview
The recruitment will be conducted through a walk in interview on 14 October 2026 at 9:00 AM. The interview will be held at the New Building, Faculty of Law, University of Allahabad, Bank Road Crossing, Chatham Lines, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, 211002.
Candidates are required to download and complete the prescribed application form available through the University of Allahabad. Applicants appearing for the interview should carry the completed application form along with their original documents and self attested photocopies of relevant certificates, degrees and marksheets.
