Legal Counsel Vacancy at slice
The Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal support on a wide range of commercial and technology matters. The role involves independently drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements while advising internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory risks.

Commercial Contracts and Technology Law
The selected Legal Counsel will handle various commercial agreements, including technology and SaaS agreements, vendor and outsourcing agreements, marketing and co-branding agreements, banking and partnership agreements, NDAs and service agreements.
The role also involves negotiating contractual provisions concerning liability, indemnity, data protection, audit rights and termination. The Legal Counsel will help ensure that contracts comply with applicable RBI requirements relating to areas such as financial services outsourcing, IT outsourcing, digital lending, KYC and customer protection.
Intellectual Property and Data Protection
The role includes responsibility for managing the organisation’s trademark portfolio, including clearance searches, filings, prosecution, oppositions, renewals and enforcement. The Legal Counsel will also advise on IP ownership, licensing and assignment in technology, vendor and marketing arrangements.
Another important area of the position is data protection and regulatory compliance. The selected lawyer will advise on compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its rules in contracts, product flows and data-sharing arrangements.
The role also involves advising on software licensing, open-source usage, proprietary technology and confidential information. The Legal Counsel may handle IP infringement matters, takedowns and instances of brand misuse, including phishing and impersonation.
Eligibility and Experience
Candidates should hold an LL.B. degree from a recognised university and have 0 to 3 years of post-qualification experience.
A strong track record of independently drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology contracts is required. Working knowledge of RBI regulations applicable to banks is an advantage.
The Legal Counsel will also advise senior stakeholders on legal risks, support internal audit and compliance activities, and track legal and regulatory developments relevant to the banking business.
