National Article Writing Competition on Clean & Safe Sports 2026 [Cash Prizes up to ₹10,000]: Submit by September 20!

Submissions are invited for the National Article Writing Competition on Clean & Safe Sports, organized by the UNESCO Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports, National Law University Delhi. The last date for submission is September 20, 2026.

About the Competition

The UNESCO Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports, National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) is organizing the National Article Writing Competition on Clean & Safe Sports to encourage scholarly engagement with contemporary legal and ethical issues in sports governance.

The 2026 edition is centred around the theme:

“Governing Clean & Safe Sports: Ethics and Emerging Challenges.”


Eligibility

The competition is open to:

  • Undergraduate (UG) law students
  • Postgraduate (PG) law students
  • Early-career researchers
  • Academicians
  • Lawyers

Co-authorship is permitted.


Suggested Topics

Participants may write on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Anti-doping law and criminalisation of doping (NADA Act, 2022)
  • Athlete rights and due process before CAS and domestic tribunals
  • National Sports Governance Act, 2025
  • Intellectual Property in Sports—broadcasting, personality rights, sponsorship
  • AI in officiating, e-sports regulation, and NFTs in sports
  • Comparative/TWAIL perspectives and the Global South in WADA/CAS

Submission Guidelines

All entries must comply with the following requirements:

  • Word Count: 3,000–5,000 words (excluding footnotes)
  • Abstract: Maximum 200 words
  • Citation Style: OSCOLA (4th Edition)
  • Similarity Index: Below 15%
  • Use of AI is strictly prohibited
  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished
  • Copyright of the manuscript shall vest with the UNESCO Chair for Clean Sports

Formatting Guidelines

  • Use Initial Capitals for all words except prepositions and articles.
  • Headings should follow the prescribed hierarchy:
    • 1 (First Order)
    • 1.1 (Second Order)
    • 1.1.1 (Third Order)

  • Result Declaration: October 15, 2026

  • Co-authored Submission: ₹500
