Google is seeking to hire a Regulatory and Litigation Counsel, Investigations and Enforcement in its Gurugram, Haryana office.
This role is perfect for experienced legal professionals with a strong understanding of regulatory law, litigation, investigations and enforcement. The attorney hired will work closely with Google’s legal and business teams to advise on and manage complex regulatory and litigation matters.
About the role
As a Corporate Counsel at Google, you will be involved in important legal matters that emerge from new technologies and shifting regulatory landscapes. You will advise the company on legal and regulatory risk and collaborate with teams within Google. You will also be responsible for regulatory inquiries, investigations, litigation and enforcement proceedings. We are looking for someone who has the ability to comprehend complex legal and technical issues and provide practical legal counsel and judgment.
Minimum qualifications
JD or equivalent or equivalent practical experience.
Member in good standing of the Bar in a state where practicing law or otherwise authorized to practice law in that state.
Minimum of 7 years of attorney-level experience working for an in-house legal department, law firm, or government.
Preferred qualifications
Approximately 10 years of experience in legal, regulatory and litigation matters, including investigations and enforcement actions.
Experience with identifying, managing and mitigating regulatory risk.
Experience developing and maintaining legal or compliance programs that ensure products and practices comply with relevant laws, regulations and external commitments.
Experience working in the technology industry, with the ability to understand and apply complex technical concepts to legal issues.
Experience interacting with Indian regulators such as the CCI, MeitY and RBI.
Knowledge of the Information Technology Act and intermediary guidelines and related regulations.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage Google’s response to government and regulatory investigations, inquiries and enforcement actions.
Manage matters that bridge regulatory proceedings and civil litigation or other areas of law.
Oversee the timely and accurate collection and production of relevant information for external submissions, regulatory disclosures and subsequent proceedings.
Advise Google in connection with government and regulatory audits, examinations and investigations.
