Spark Legal is inviting applications for the position of Senior Associate in its Transaction Advisory and General Corporate practice. The role is based in Mumbai and will be offered in a hybrid working arrangement.
The opportunity is intended for lawyers with 4–5 years of post-qualification experience specifically in transactional matters, particularly venture capital and mergers and acquisitions.
Senior Associate Vacancy at Spark Legal
The selected candidate will work on matters involving M&A, venture capital transactions, FEMA and general corporate advisory. The role will involve working with founders, startups, investors and growing businesses on a range of corporate and transactional requirements.
At the Senior Associate level, the candidate will be expected to take ownership of matters, work directly with clients and counterparties, and supervise and manage junior members of the team.
Experience Required
Spark Legal has specifically stated that candidates should have 4–5 years of transactional experience in VC and M&A matters.
Experience primarily in-house or predominantly in general corporate work, although relevant to legal practice, will not be counted towards the required PQE for this position. Candidates should therefore have substantial hands-on experience in venture capital and M&A transactions.
The role may be suitable for lawyers who have developed transactional expertise and are looking to work directly on corporate deals while taking greater responsibility for client management and matter execution.
Location and Work Arrangement
The position is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with a hybrid work arrangement.
The Senior Associate will work across the firm’s Transaction Advisory and General Corporate practice and will have responsibilities involving clients, counterparties and junior team members.
