NLSIU 1st Online Moot Court Competition 2026: Win ₹20,000 + Certificate of Excellence in Consumer Law

The Chair on Consumer Law and Practice (CLAP) at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) has announced its 1st Online Moot Court Competition on Consumer Law and Practice. The competition invites law students from across India to participate in a national-level moot focused on contemporary issues in consumer protection law.

The competition will be conducted entirely online and will provide participants with an opportunity to develop their legal research, drafting, written advocacy and oral argumentation skills.

The competition has been organised to provide law students with a platform to engage with contemporary questions relating to consumer protection law and practice. Participants will be required to approach legal issues through written submissions and oral advocacy.

The competition is designed to provide a professional and competitive environment for students to strengthen their understanding of consumer law while developing practical advocacy skills.

Eligibility and Participation

The competition is open to law students from across the country. Interested participants are required to check the detailed competition announcement for the eligibility requirements, registration procedure and other applicable rules.

Prizes and Recognition

The Winning Team will receive a cash prize of ₹20,000 along with a Certificate of Excellence.

The Runner-Up Team will receive a cash prize of ₹15,000 along with a Certificate of Excellence.

The results and prize distribution are scheduled to take place on 24 December 2026 in New Delhi as part of the National Consumer Rights Day event organised by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India.

Competition Format and Application

The moot court competition will be conducted entirely online, allowing participating teams to take part without travelling for the competition rounds.
