NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship 2027–28
NVIDIA has opened applications for its 2027–2028 Graduate Fellowship Program, offering research funding of up to $60,000 per award to eligible doctoral researchers. The programme supports PhD research that advances accelerated computing and provides fellows with opportunities to collaborate with NVIDIA researchers.
Applications for the 2027–2028 fellowship cycle opened on September 30, 2026, and the application deadline is October 30, 2026.
The fellowship award is administered through the fellow’s university and can be used towards the student’s stipend, tuition and mandatory fees.
Eligibility for Doctoral Researchers
Applicants must have completed their first year of PhD-level studies before applying and must be actively engaged in research as part of their PhD thesis.
The fellowship is primarily intended for students majoring in computer science, computer engineering, system architecture, electrical engineering or a related field. Applicants must remain full-time and active PhD students throughout the nine-month fellowship award year and should not plan to graduate before the end of that academic year.
This means that the opportunity is not a general fellowship for law or public policy PhD scholars. However, researchers working at the intersection of technology and a qualifying technical discipline should carefully review the official eligibility requirements before applying.
$60,000 Research Funding and NVIDIA Collaboration
Selected fellows can receive up to $60,000 in research funding. The award is administered by the university rather than paid directly to the student.
The programme also provides an opportunity to work with NVIDIA researchers and technology. Fellows are expected to complete a required in-person summer internship at an eligible NVIDIA research office before the fellowship award year begins.
Internship locations listed by NVIDIA include the United States, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Israel, Taiwan and Singapore.
Internship and GTC San Jose Participation
The in-person summer internship is a required component of the fellowship. Applicants must therefore be available to undertake the internship before the fellowship year begins.
Fellows also have the opportunity to present their research to the broader technology community at GTC San Jose, providing an avenue to share their doctoral research and engage with researchers and professionals working in accelerated computing.
Applicants must also meet the programme’s participation restrictions. Full-time NVIDIA employees and immediate family members of NVIDIA employees are not eligible to participate.
Application Deadline and Official Details
Applications for the 2027–2028 NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship must be submitted by October 30, 2026. Candidates should review the fellowship’s eligibility requirements, evaluation criteria and application instructions before submitting their application.
The programme requires the applicant’s university to administer the fellowship award, and applicants must remain enrolled as full-time PhD students during the nine-month award period.
