The Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability (3CS), Ashoka University has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a research project titled “Response of a Small Mammal Community to Environmental Fluctuations in the Biodiversity Hotspot of the Eastern Himalayas.”
About the Position
The selected candidate will work as part of a research team led by Professor Balaji Chattopadhyay. The project focuses on understanding how small mammal communities respond to environmental changes in the Eastern Himalayan biodiversity hotspot.
The JRF will be involved in field sampling, molecular wet-lab research and data analysis. The role will require the candidate to work closely with the research team and contribute to the project’s scientific outputs.
During the first six months, the candidate is expected to complete at least one field season, establish important laboratory protocols and contribute to project reports and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
The selected JRF will primarily be responsible for:
- Conducting field sampling as part of the research project.
- Carrying out molecular wet-lab work.
- Establishing and following core laboratory protocols.
- Processing raw research data and preparing analysis-ready datasets.
- Contributing to project reports and research analysis.
