The Islamabad talks between the US and Iranian delegations have collapsed, but they have given rise to a new farce and gimmick which can only arise in that Wonderland ( or La La Land ) called Pakistan–the demand in Pakistan to bestow the Nobel Peace Prize on Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Pakistan army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. Many Pakistanis, even some in high positions, have fallen head over heels in making this demand.
And why not ? After all, though they have not brought about an agreement between the two hostile countries, have these two not tried their best to do so, so should they not be rewarded for their pains ?.
However, the problem with the demand is this : Asim Munir ( like all Pakistan army chiefs before him since 1947 ) is known to be a US puppet, and will loyally do the bidding of his master. One proof of this is that he made the ridiculous, laughable, and shameful proposal that US President Donald Trump ( a known aggressive hawk, who had no qualms in capturing Venezuelan President Maduro and bringing him handcuffed and blindfolded to America to face a kangaroo trial ) should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
The proposal to hold talks in Islamabad between USA and Iran was obviously made by the Pakistanis on the order of their master, the Americans, and the Pakistanis loyally complied. So what credit can they claim ?
When US Vice President JD Vance arrived in Islamabad for talks with the Iranians, Munir was seen with him with a countenance showing subservience to his master.
As for Shahbaz Sharif, everyone knows that there has been defacto army rule in Pakistan, with only a figleaf of democracy, after the events of 9th May 2023, and the real ruler of Pakistan since then is the army chief. Hence Shahbaz Sharif, though formally the Prime Minister, in reality is the puppet of Asim Munir. In other words, the poor chap is in the unenviable position of being a puppet of a puppet.
Demanding Nobel Peace Prize for these two puppets is really the joke of the century, but it seems Pakistanis like jokes and farces
