About the Competition
The Centre for Family Law (CFL), National Law University, Jodhpur is organizing the first edition of the CFL–NLUJ Inter-College Essay Writing Competition on the theme “Reproductive Rights & Bodily Autonomy.”
The competition seeks to encourage critical engagement with contemporary issues at the intersection of family law, reproductive rights, and bodily autonomy. It aims to provide students with a platform to examine the legal, social, and ethical dimensions of these evolving issues through rigorous, original, and interdisciplinary scholarship.
Submissions will undergo a multi-stage review process conducted by the Editorial Board of the Family Law Chronicle and an esteemed panel of faculty members from National Law University, Jodhpur.

“Reproductive Rights & Bodily Autonomy”
Indicative Sub-Themes
Participants may submit analytical essays on the main theme or on related areas, including but not limited to:
- Abortion
- Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART)
- Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
- Maternal Health
- Child Marriage
- Other contemporary issues relating to family law, reproductive rights, and bodily autonomy
Prizes
Selected participants will receive:
