Infosys Limited is hiring for a Legal Counsel in its legal team, which will be located in Bangalore. About the Role
The role of the Legal Counsel will involve assisting with regulatory and compliance matters relating to the operations of Infosys in multiple jurisdictions. The Legal Counsel will be advising internal stakeholders on legal issues relating to data privacy, cyber security, labor & employment, intellectual property, telecommunications, and technology law. The role would be best suited for lawyers who have previous experience dealing with international regulatory frameworks and have advised business & technology functions on legal & compliance issues.
Who would be a good fit?
The role would be best suited for experienced lawyers with 4-8 years of experience with a BA/LLB or equivalent, and who are eligible to practice law in India. Previous experience with a technology company of similar scale & scope as Infosys would be an advantage. The role specifically would be best suited for candidates with a minimum of three years of experience with Cyber Security law, Data privacy law and regulatory compliance.
What will you be doing?
You will be advising the Data Privacy Office of Infosys on queries that have been made concerning Infosys’ international operations and data privacy law in various countries. You will also be advising the Security team on global cyber security legal issues, as well as providing regulatory support for major global markets like United States, EU and the Asia Pacific region. You will be involved in management of data privacy and cyber security incidents; understanding established procedures on containing, remediating and ultimately, stable resolution of such incidents.
Legal Counsel responsibilities will include supporting global compliance programs aimed at identifying potential legal gaps or regulatory risks across Infosys’ operations worldwide. You will work with stakeholders from across various functions to drive cross-functional programs from a legal stance. You will also potentially be developing, implementing, managing and operationalizing compliance processes in a global tech business. Key areas for this position are experience in data privacy, cyber security law, technology law, regulatory compliance, global regulatory advisory and potentially intellectual property, labor & employment and telecommunications law due to the wide array of legal issues that could arise.
