Roles and Responsibilities
The selected Legal Associate will be responsible for preparing Due Diligence Reports concerning immovable properties.
A major part of the work will involve examining property ownership records and tracing the complete chain of title documents.
The candidate will prepare Title Search Reports and Title Investigation Reports required by banks and NBFCs before approving property-related financial transactions.
The work will also involve reviewing sale deeds, lease deeds, gift deeds, partition deeds, pattas, allotment documents and other property records.
The selected professional will verify revenue records, mutation entries, registration documents and other relevant government records.
Another responsibility will be identifying defects in title, existing encumbrances, discrepancies in documents and legal risks affecting immovable properties.
The Associate will also examine mortgage documents and security-related records used in banking and lending transactions.
Legal drafting forms an important part of the position. The selected candidate will prepare legal opinions, title reports and other documents relating to ownership and property due diligence.
The role may also require coordination with banks, NBFCs, clients and government authorities.
Additional research and documentation assignments may be given depending on the firm’s requirements.
Skills Required
Candidates should have a good understanding of property laws, land registration procedures and revenue documentation.
Strong legal drafting and research skills are required.
