Actor Celina Jaitly files domestic violence case against Peter Haag, seeks ₹50 crore compensation

Celina Jaitly, a Bollywood actress and a former Miss India has gone to the serious legal action against her husband, Peter Haag. She has submitted a domestic violence complaint in a court in Mumbai against him claiming his gross physical and emotional abuse. This was heard by a Judicial Magistrate in Andheri who has now put a notice on Peter Haag. In her marriage with her husband Celina has claimed that he was very cruel and disrespectful to her. She states that the mistreatment was not only physical but verbal as well as sexual.

Celina has given very alarming cases in her detailed complaint of how she was treated at home. She claimed that Peter Haag was always swearing and abused her, referring to her as maidservant. She claimed that he would say that she resembled a maid and that no one would think that she was house help. Such racist and humiliating comments brought her a lot of mental torture and decreased her self-esteem in the course of years. According to the actress, such consistent humiliation made her feel nothing at her own house.

Another instance of physical violence that endangered her health is also mentioned in the petition. A terrible event in the complaint occurred only three weeks after the birth of her children. Celina claimed that Peter drove her out of their apartment when she was still undergoing surgery. She claimed that her stitches were not healed and she could hardly walk when this occurred. This episode shows how serious the alleged abuse against her was when she was weak.

Celina had explained that her husband was a narcissist who was not emphatic towards her or their children. She states that his temper and alcoholism increased his actions. According to the complaint, his erratic rage established a fearful atmosphere in her and the family. She was scared and she was always a stressed person due to his violent outbursts and carelessness. These are such grave allegations that the court has noted, and has requested Peter to act on the same.

Financial Abuse and Professional Malice.

Besides beating her, Celina has also alleged that Peter Haag has ruined her financial autonomy. She claims that he had systematically embezzled her money and other assets over the years. The complaint further asserts that he compelled her to quit acting movies and also endorsing after the two got married. He provided different reasons to ensure that she was not able to pursue her career which resulted in lack of income. In so doing he rendered her totally dependent on him in her day-to-day activities.

The actress asserts that Peter had lied his way to get her to convey her properties into his name. She particularly referred to a flat in Mumbai which she had to give him on a very hard time. This occurred as she was also in a very depressed state following the loss of her parents as well as one of her newborn babies. She accuses Peter of exploiting her emotional condition to seize ownership of her valuable property. This economic power left her with very little to retaliate or even quit the marriage.

This time Celina is demanding huge sum as compensation to the losses she has suffered. She has requested the court to instruct Peter to give her 50 crore of money as compensation of the damage to her career and mental well-being. Besides this one time payment, she has also required a monthly maintenance of 10 lakh. She claims that she needs this money to sustain her lifestyle and pay her court bills. This demand has been heavily contributed by the fact that she is losing her prime working years in the Bollywood.

The Celina legal team has indicated that she was a successful person prior to marriage. They claim her husband could not allow her to make millions which she could have earned as an actress. The compensation level does not only represent the physical pain but also the financial opportunities that she had to forego. These financial claims are the matters that the court will proceed to examine and determine whether the demand is reasonable. This element of the case presents a financial dispute to the domestic violence charges.

The Fight of Custody and Dignity.

The worst aspect of such court struggle of Celina is the separation with three children. The children are in Vienna with their father and Celina is struggling to retrieve them. She claims that Peter has totally cut her off to the children and he does not even allow her to talk to them. According to the complaint, she was obliged to run out of their house in Austria at night. She was forced to abandon her children since she was scared of her life and she was not supported at home.

Celina has asked the court to issue the orders that will enable her to address her sons as soon as possible. She is requesting an unhindered access to virtual and telephonic access in order to keep in touch with them on a daily basis. The prospect of not being with her children as she goes to war against the law is tormenting her. Her attorneys are doing their best to make sure that in the nearest future, she obtains custody or at least visitation rights. The main issue in the whole legal process is the welfare of the children.

The actress has openly declared that she is struggling this fight on behalf of her dignity and love of her children. In one of her posts in the social media, she said that she was in pain to be alone and not have any parents to take care of her. She named the circumstance a stormy ocean but determined to be as firm as the daughter of a soldier. The fact that she has made a statement publicly demonstrates that she is willing to struggle to fight the injustice she feels she has been subjected to. She desires to have her life back and her rights as a mother and woman.
